What do you do in Bodø in the winter? Nothing much I must say. Due to the heavy snow, most people will not be spending much time outdoors. Well it is Norway after all. Therefore in the winter, most travelers only transit through Bodø since Bodø is as North as the national public rail service will take you if you are travelling from the South of Norway. As for ourselves, we were waiting to go onboard our Hurtigruten coastal steamer the next day. We hardly saw any fellow travelers but this city has all the amenities any traveler may wish for. There is a Radisson hotel near the town centre and there are many supermarkets and malls if you are incline to do any shopping. However, please check the opening hours as Norwegian shops tend to close early, and more so especially during the festive period.
