Very rarely St Paul’s Cathedral has free entrance for all but on Lord Mayor’s Day, all are welcome. Another benefit of going on Lord Mayor’s Day is you can take all the photographs you want! Usually photography is not allowed in the cathedral because it will disturb the spiritual life of the worshippers but on Lord Mayor’s Day, it was like a carnival inside and every visitor is happily snapping away. Entrance fees usually cost £14.50 per adult so I saved £29 for my wife and myself by going today. However you don’t get any of the usual guided tours or multimedia guides but of course I wasn’t expecting any. The only negative was that it was really crowded and the toilet queues are just plain scary for England’s standards.
