Hello there! If you are new here, you might want to subscribe to the RSS feed, follow me on Twitter or like me on Facebook for the latest updates.

We weren’t expecting much due to the huge number of really negative reviews on tripadvisor. However, it’s not like we can change since we were put up here by Easyhotel as an alternative accommodation. Bearing in mind that we only paid £25 a night, we kept our fingers crossed.

We arrived at about 4pm and we were checked in very quickly. I asked for a room with a bath and luckily they still have one. I am glad that I did because the rooms with baths are the larger ones. The location for this hotel is fantastic. On the same street you have Somerfield which you can buy anything you didn’t bring and also snacks if you are hungry in the night. This hotel is practically at the West end of Princes Street. Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile are less than 15 minutes by walking therefore I think the location couldn’t be better.

Accommodation rating: 3
The room is pretty standard and comes with a small flat screen. Everything is clean as expected. I did not experience any issues with noise but I stayed during the week and it may get bad during the weekends. In my opinion, the room size is reasonable with lots of space for luggage but this will only apply to rooms with baths. Those without are a bit smaller and looking at the floorplan there are a number of irregularly shaped room. Fortunately I did not encounter any of the problems that other customers had reported.

Value rating: ?
Since we didn’t pay the listed price, it would not be fair to give a value rating. However we did check what was the price if booked at short notice. The price was about £240 and I would think it would too expensive
