Buying Ryanair tickets on an impulse?

Hello there! If you are new here, you might want to subscribe to the RSS feed, follow me on Twitter or like me on Facebook for the latest updates.

Sometimes I fly budget and I understand there are very limited promotional fares for any particular flight. Ryanair certainly do take it a step further by telling you exactly how many promotional fares left.

I was trying to book a ticket to Oslo after Christmas and Ryanair is telling me there are 3 seats left at 34.99 pounds. I can’t confirm if the number stated is real or just a marketing gimmick to get people to buy without thinking thoroughly. It sure costs a lot to change any flight details. It costs £35 to change flight times or route and £100 to change a passenger’s name. The customer also has to top up any fare difference and no refund will be made if the new fare is cheaper. One thing is for sure, you will certainly lose any savings over a full service airline if you need to make any changes.

Ryanair’s website is also heavily monetized. There are Google Ads and other advertisers accompanying you all the way when you are making a reservation online. I have no doubt that Ryanair is surviving well in this economic crunch. Other airlines have much to learn from Ryanair.
