Graig Wen is indeed a beautiful place and I had the luxury of staying around for 2 days, even though it was just camping. Sarah gave us a warm reception and was most helpful in many ways.
The toilets
The view from our panorama pitch.
The communal area in front of the panorama pitches.
The bed and breakfast rooms.
The terraces of those rooms.
I suppose this should be a communal area of those staying in the bed and breakfast.
Graig Wen also has 2 yurts which you can stay. 2 person yurt.
This is a larger yurt which can sleep up to 5.
Globenomads ratings:
Accommodation: 3.5/5 (Campsite)
Well, for a campsite it is quite well equipped. You have clean toilets, clean showers and a good view, what else can you ask for? Furthermore, Graig Wen stocks a reasonable supply of camping equipment and you can order croissants for breakfasts.
A note about the showers: they cost about a pound for about 5 minutes. I did not exactly time them, but the hot water runs out pretty fast. The 2 showers available work differently. Once you step in, the one further away operates even without inserting a pound (just cold water) but the one nearer to you will not operate without inserting any coins.
Value: 4/5 (Campsite)
It is about the same price as other campsites. You pay 7 pounds per person per night plus an additional 2 pounds per night if you want to pitch on 1 of their 2 panorama pitches. These 2 pitches do have a good view but beware that they are quite near to the sewage. Should not be a problem for motorhomes/caravans though. Some of the other pitches do offer a good view too.
