26th May – 3rd day roadtrip
By the time we packed up everything at the campsite and get ready to leave, it’s almost noon. We drove to our next destination Llanberris to check in at Plas Coch Guesthouse. Llanberris is in Snowdonia and it is a popular base for people hiking to the Snowdon peak using the Llanberris route. I will cover that in another post. We quickly rush off to another attraction in Snowdonia. As a general rule in UK, attractions close very early and driving through Snowdonia National Park can be quite slow at times.
Arriving in Bodnant Garden we were met with hordes of elderly with hardly any young people in sight. I had thought maybe the GPS failed us again and we had arrived in some hospice or retirement village. However, after visiting this property all I can say is the elderly know what’s best and taking a walk in Bodnant Garden is a beautiful way to spend an afternoon. I can certainly see why this National Trust’s property is one of the most popular. The flowers bloom in a most spectacular fashion and they are everywhere! I would think this garden put most flower shows in Singapore to shame with its sheer quantity and outstanding quality. We had certainly come at a good season and if we had the luxury to visit this place a second time in a different season, I will report back again.
