Well today it’s a typical London weather day with dark clouds and drizzling rain. The chilly wind is biting cold even though the temperature ratings did not suggest so. We decided to explore Tate Britain and the surrounding areas but cut it short and only did Tate due to the weather.
Tate Britain as a museum is not as large as British Museum or does not have as many paintings as National Gallery. However, the organization is good and it’s small enough for you to explore in a few hours. What I like about the organization is every gallery starts with a introduction on a board describing what is the background and the time period of that particular gallery. It is certainly very educational and most helpful if you are not familiar with art history.
Next time we are going to explore further, maybe Dover or Canterbury. Please check back soon.
Leng Yeow Admission: Free, except for special exhibitions
Can you spot us? Tate Britain also has some contemporary art.
I took this photo for all of us out there who studied A Midsummer Night’s Dream. You can also see this in Wikipedia. This was painted by Henry Fuseli in 1796, depicting the scene where Titania lavishes her love on Bottom, who has been made an ass by Oberon. Even though you probably can’t tell from this photo, this painting is huge! Can probably filled up an entire wall.
