Hello there! If you are new here, you might want to subscribe to the RSS feed, follow me on Twitter or like me on Facebook for the latest updates.

This place is the lesser known sibling of the Stonehenge. It is built earlier, and it’s also much larger. If you are in the vicinity, remember to visit as the place is not fenced up and hence it is free all the time. As opposed to Stonehenge, you can touch or do whatever you want to the stones. Hopefully many years later, the stones are not vandalized. However, if you see sheep grazing in the fields, be very careful as the place is a landmine, if you know what I mean!

The stones were actually buried deep underground when they were found and some stones were only dug up in the last couple of years. People had placed them in their present positions.

This is the National Trust’s gallery. Admission fees applies.
The restaurant and the souvenir shop.
Check out the size of the stone compared with the truck.
Fluffy and cute
The local inn.
This is the Silbury Hill located nearby and it is the tallest mound in Europe(40 m). It’s man made but its purpose is unknown. Speculated to be a grave of sorts.
This is the West Kennet Long Barrow. This is definitely a burial tomb. The entrance is obscured by the 2 large front stones and is behind them.
