Arriving in Hong Kong

Hello there! If you are new here, you might want to subscribe to the RSS feed, follow me on Twitter or like me on Facebook for the latest updates.

Sorry about the long lapse in the postings. I have been busy planning on the long UK journey which my wife and I will be taking soon. Once we start on the trip, we will certainly update this site most regularly.

In the meantime, I will be wrapping up on both our Hong Kong and Japan trips and writing about some of the events that had left lasting impressions. The long awaited pictures will finally be posted for our friends. Now to move on to our Hong Kong trip which was where I left off previously.

After arriving in Hong Kong on a United Airlines flight, I have decided to not take another United Airlines flight unless there are compelling reasons to do so. Suffice to say, I wasn’t too keen on the returning flight. Food served on both the outbound and inbound flights were appalling bad. The check-in process also took a much longer time than what I had experienced from other airlines despite the fact that I had already checked in online.

We took the shuttle bus to Gold Coast Apartments. However, due to the lack of specific instructions on where to meet, we stopped at the Gold Coast Hotel even though we asked the staff and showed them the printout from Absolute. In the end, we had to walk a pretty far distance to our designated apartment block. It was really poor planning and communication between Absolute and Dynamikz. I have attached some pictures of the apartment we had stayed in. The apartment has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a study. I do quite like it. However, this place was far from the city centre but they do provide daily shuttle bus services to various places for residents.

After resting for a while, it was time to go Kowloon. The weather wasn’t too welcoming. It was very foggy but at least it was cooling. We did notice a Rolls Royce or similar at the Peninsular. We walked around a bit and decided to catch the laser show at the Avenue of Stars. It’s called Symphony of Lights. As it was too foggy, it was difficult to get good shots.
