Sometime early fourth quarter last year, I have attended a sales presentation on some holiday wholesale scheme from Garraway Enterprises. The sales presentation was a really horrible experience and I soon discovered that your experience will be largely determined by the salesperson assigned to you. Anyway, complaining about that presentation could last me all day and all that I can say here is I was extremely unlucky. I hope they fire that arrogant pig haha. In a nutshell, I would say that booking your free trip is not very difficult but you have to plan way ahead and be mentally prepared to fork out more money. The whole process which starts from you mailing your booking form together with your cheque took quite a long time for me. The booking form states that it will take about 14 days but that is so optimistic. Basically I waited for about 2 weeks then I started emailing them. They do have an auto reply but I never got any replies from an actual person until about 6 or 7 emails later. I guess this took about more than 1 week.
Previously, I have already paid them SGD$200 per pax to book the Hong Kong trip. Then they asked for another SGD$211 per pax, bringing it to a total of SGD$411 per person. I paid the requested amount that night and again I pestered them for updates. About 1 week later I got a confirmation. The whole process took about 6 weeks with basically no updates from Dynamikz Networkz except at the very end after you paid and your trip was confirmed they gave me a phone number to call. It was very much like an information blackhole. Luckily for me it was not a money blackhole. I did think about visiting their registered address to make a scene but it was not in my nature to be confrontational.
I knew that they have booked my flights on Zuji.com because they sent me the confirmation webpage from that website. After that I tried to book the same flight and the tickets are actually selling at SGD$380.73. It could be possible that they could have got it even cheaper. It seems like I have just paid for my own flights plus some miscellaneous administrative charges. The confirmation for the accommodation came in the form of a hotel voucher from Absolute, which is another timeshare company. The accommodation stated on the voucher was Gold Coast Service Apartment. Not very descriptive and I could foresee problems finding the correct place, which I will soon write about in another post.
